Blooming in spring

  • Kozen Yoga 32 Church Street Hawthorn, Victoria, 3122 Australia (map)

As we step into the beginning of September, we recognize the seasonal shift as we transition from the stillness of winter to the awakening energy of spring. Nature begins to stretch and stir, and so do we. This season symbolizes renewal, intention, and growth. It offers us a beautiful invitation to align yourselves with this natural cycle by setting intentions and blooming in Spring.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is associated with the Wood Element, which governs the Liver and Gallbladder meridians. The Wood Element represents vision, purpose, and direction, enabling us to plan and grow toward our goals while moving through life with clarity—like a tree rooted in the earth and reaching confidently toward the sky. We will focus on balancing Yin and Yang energy through pranayama and movement, exploring the contrast between the soft and strong, passive and active, dark and bright. This workshop will create space not only for growth but for doing so with mindfulness and intention.

During this two hour workshop, we will:

- Plant a symbolic seed of intention for the Spring season and nourish this seed through pranayama (mindful breathing) and mudra.

- Engage in a flowing sequence that combines Yin and Yang movement to connect with the Wood Element and open the energetic pathways of the Liver and Gallbladder meridians.

- Conclude with a guided meditation and savasana to allow time for integration, reflection, and rest.

Investment: $60
