We have 4 different types of classes now at Kozen Yoga:
Power Flow
The Original - This class is an energetic, flowing and dynamic style of yoga that allows beginners, intermediate and advanced students to be challenged and yet nurtured, all in the same class. Everyone is welcome but expect to sweat! :) This style of yoga is also known as Vinyasa Power Flow, Power Flow, Vinyasa, Power Yoga.... Above all, it's just a lot fun. Nb. If you are an absolute beginner, we would encourage you to do 'Kozen Basics' and/or 'Gentle Yoga' at least once before coming into these classes. You are always welcome though and Child's Pose and gentle variations are always on offer for rest.
Kozen Basics
Beginner Friendly! :) This is our introduction class and is perfect for the new student and even for the experienced Yogi to come and re-learn with a 'Beginners Mind' in a friendly workshop style environment. Questions throughout the class are encouraged, poses and sequences will be broken down and explained and is the perfect segue into the 'Power Flow' classes. Everyone is welcome.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a beautiful, grounded and slow 'long hold' practice which focuses on stretching the connective tissue and joint capsules throughout the entire body. It is a perfect complement to the more 'Yang' dynamic style of the 'Power Vinyasa' classes. Holds can last for up to 5 minutes in any given pose and it requires a very different level of focus and requires the body to be relaxed in all the postures to enable the connective tissue to stretch. The results and benefits during and after the class are amazing and it only gets better with repetition. You need to try it at least once! :)
Gentle Yoga
This is a soothing, restorative, relaxing and a more 'Hatha' style of yoga. It still incorporates Sun Salutations and some more 'Yang' style postures but done at a more relaxing tempo than the regular 'Power Flow' classes. In summary, a bit like 'Power Flow' at half speed, a good progression from 'Power Basics' and is ideal for Pre-natal ladies and those coming back from injuries (or off a long break from regular yoga practice).
